This page explains exactly which cookies OurYearBook uses, why, and for how long.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Browsers send them back with subsequent requests so the server can recognise your session. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (session cookies) and others persist until an expiry date or until you clear them (persistent cookies).
OurYearBook uses only essential cookies. These are strictly necessary for the service to function and cannot be refused without breaking core features such as sign-in and session security.
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Essential | Supabase authentication session — keeps you signed in securely across page loads. | Session / 1 week |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | Essential | PKCE code verifier used during the OAuth sign-in flow to prevent interception attacks. | Session |
| cookie-consent | Essential | Stores your acknowledgement of this cookie notice so the banner is not shown on every visit. | Persistent (localStorage) |
Because we only use essential cookies, disabling them through your browser will prevent you from staying signed in. You can still view public pages without cookies enabled.
To clear OurYearBook cookies, open your browser settings and clear cookies for ouryearbook.app. Your account and yearbook data will not be affected — you will simply be signed out.
For questions about our use of cookies, contact support@ouryearbook.app.
